FINALLY [06 Dec 2008|01:02pm]

We finally figured it out! The snuggly warm dog hat and scarf is finally here! After some long, hard, tedious work, we finally got them past production! We made them in 3 sizes, XS, SM, M/L. We're also almost done with the slotted hats for the ears to poke out of. I'll post images of those when they're finally ready as well!

Thanks everyone for all the feedback and suggestions! You flippin' ROCK!

(modeled by Stewie & Lucy wearing the size M/L)

So last night I was going through last winter's bag of ideas for winter dog hats and I found this funny red corduroy one which Stewie just loves to wear. I always laugh so hard when he wears this one but it poses a good question for this season's line of winter-wear....

What is in more of demand by the customer???
a) Dog hats with cute lil teddy ears on the side or
b) Dog hats with lil slits for the pet's real ears to poke out of?

Help me out here... Let's put it to a VOTE!

hey all [04 Sep 2008|02:56pm]

hey everyone! I started a new community after I saw that I have lots of clothes and other things that are either way too big or too small for my dogs. So I started a community to swap dog apparel with other members because I know you have done the same mistake and have stuff thats too big or small sitting around.

Now you can get rid of it and get your pooch some shiny new treats... doggyswap Everything from tees, jackets, booties, collars, etc.... start posting!

if this is not allowed here, I apologize.

Puppy sweater w/ cable knit! [12 Mar 2008|01:07pm]

The picture doesn't show it very well, but I learned how to cable knit!  I made a sweater for my Dumpling with one large, central cable.

Puppy sweaters! [11 Mar 2008|04:15pm]

I recently started knitting, and my favorite thing to make are sweaters for my little Dumpling. I've made three so far from a very basic pattern, the first one featured in Stylish Knits for Dogs.

Valentine's Day Sweater [22 Feb 2008|06:53pm]

Forgot to post this on V-Day.

This is Leo's Valentine's Day sweater. He got a lot of compliments, mostly "Isn't she pretty", but he didn't mind. I made it from an old sweater and the hearts from from another sweater, handsewn with embroidery thread. The sweater was extremely ravely and horrible to sew on. I had quadruple stitch the seams, then finish them off with a serger stitch.

Puppy vest [14 Dec 2007|12:13am]
I just got my first puppy (since I've moved out of my mom's) two weeks ago. His name is Chewy and today he his 10 weeks old. He's the runt of the litter (only 1lb), and he's the second love of my life!

Here he is in a jacket/vest I made for him. I got the pattern from http://www.sewing.circleofcrafters.com/freepetvestpattern.html . I made another one for him last week for Christmas. It says "ho ho ho" all over it, and I lined it in black fleece to keep him extra warm. I bought some baby clothes, and I'm going to use the fabric to make a few more, just so he has a little bit of a wardrobe :p

Has anyone ever made... [07 Dec 2007|09:44am]

...doggy belly bands?

I have a boy and a girl (see icon) that I adore as much as my 9 year old daughter but Clara likes to wet in the house and Spike likes to mark everywhere though he's fixed.

I've seen belly bands (not diapers or shorts) on Ebay and wondered if anyone here knew how to make them. I have a wide assortment of fabrics on hand and hobby stores close by... have you made them and do they work?

We didn't do well with puppy shorts from the pet store. Not only did they slip out of them but they were hard to get on there, tail hole and whatnot.

Leo's recycled sweater

I also made him a striped shirt from some horribly stretchy striped fabric. I couldn't turn it under so I just serged the edge. I did manage to applique a little anchor on it from the same fabric.

Found some more knits to make him some more shirts and looking for more old sweaters to recycle.

oh man, we have to keep this community going! I know theres got to be people interested in joining or doing some kind of upkeep or actually posting.

what does everyone have going on with their wees? Dre has come to the point where he gets excited bladder and leaves pee trails everywhere. Man, that makes my life.

Does anyone have any good training tips for pit bulls?

Anyone come across any cute patterns for any cute clothes?

c'mon guys.

Is there a way I can become a moderator for this community?

oh man. [16 Feb 2007|10:39am]

[ mood | excited ]

I am so excited I found this community. Does anyone know of any good sites that have free patterns for dog clothes? I've just been buying stuff, but if I could make it, thatd be even better!

btw, heres my wee pup.

he is a 6 month old Staffordshire Bull Terrier named Dre, yes, as in Dr. Dre. I doubt he'll get a whole lot bigger. He is such a precious little guy. So sweet. I have never owned a pitbull before, but he is the sweetest, most loving dog I have ever had.

He currently wears a green t-shirt with skulls and crossbones on it and he has a pink hoodie that says Spoiled across its back and it has little skulls and crossbones on it as well. He is taken really well to the clothes, but I'd like more, so patterns are awesome!

Does anyone know any general knowledge about pits? He was sort of a rescue, but I love him too much to give him up!

Microwave Dog Treats... [03 Jan 2007|03:53pm]

[ mood | creative ]

It's really hard to find a treat that my dogs will eat and enjoy that isn't crap. We are currently renovating so I am not able to bake treats as we have no oven. Anyway I came across this microwaveable treat recipe. I didn't use the flour, garlic powder or broth. I didn't have flour, and one of our dogs can't have salt so that takes out the broth. But all and all they LOVED it! It was also so easy to make! Took litterally 5mins.

2 cup whole wheat flour

3 tablespoon oatmeal

1 egg; lightly beaten

1 teaspoon garlic powder

2/3 cup beef or chicken broth

Place flour in a bowl, add egg and broth, mix well. Blend in oatmeal and garlic powder. Roll dough into a ball, roll out on a lightly floured surface to 1/2" thick. Cut with small cookie cutters. Re-roll scraps and repeat. Arrange on a shallow baking dish or on a sheet or parchment paper in a single layer. Microwave on HIGH 10 minutes or until firm. Let cool until hardened. Store in covered container in refrigerator.
